Dear colleagues,<\/p>\n

The Working Group on Justice for Peace (WGJP), a human rights
\nnon-governmental organizations that has been working in the conflict areas
\nin Thailand, specifically in Southern border provinces of Thailand has
\nfound that the current conflict has transformed into violence between the
\ncivilians that have lived their life peacefully in a multi-cultural
\nsociety. The unrest in the area has led to the people in the area seeking
\nweapons to defense themselves and their families. The southern provinces
\ntherefore is full of both legal and illegal arms, which therefore making
\nthe possessions of arms by the people very hard to control.<\/p>\n

WGJP therefore sees the importance and the necessity to have a public
\nseminar under the title \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The possibility of arms reduction in Southern
\nborder provinces of Thailand\u00e2\u20ac on Wednesday, 26th August 2009 from 9.00
\nto 12.00 at Jumpod- Pantip conference room conference room, 4th Floor
\nPrachadhipok-Rampaipannee Building, Chulalongkorn University. The purpose
\nof the seminar is to provoke every sectors of society to understand the
\neffects of the uses of arms in solving the unrest in Southern provinces.<\/p>\n
